Coco Diving Center

We are an official partner of SSI (Scuba School International) worldly recognized scuba diving organization.

We are open to everyone whether you are new to scuba diving or certified diver. We offer a range of scuba diving; Fun Diving, Try Scuba, Basic Diver, Open Water Diver certification, and many SSI specialty courses for divers who’d like to advance their skills, as well as Emergency Training, and professional scuba diving courses, in addition to diving trips to other locations outside of Cayo Guillermo.

We are very professional and friendly team of 9, and speaks multi-languages; English, Spanish, French and Italian. Scuba courses are taught in English and Spanish. Moreover, all of our instructors are up-to-date of their scuba diving instructor licenses under SSI. And we have many repeat clients diving with us for many years prior to our recent relocation to Meliá Cayo Guillermo from Tryp Cayo Coco.

Cayo Guillermo

It is a small quiet island located west of Cayo Coco, the biggest keys, that surround Cuba in Jardines del Rey (the King of Gardens), on the northern coast of Ciego de Ávila province facing the waters of the Old Bahamas Channel.

Playa Pilar in Cayo Guillermo is one of the most beautiful pristine beaches in Cuba, named after Ernest Hemingway’s yacht, cabin cruiser “Pilar”. Most part of Cayo Guillermo and Cayo Coco area is covered by a green forest, and it is a natural habitat for hundreds of birds, reptiles, and mammals.

The sea of Cayo Guillermo is calm with beautiful crystal clear turquoise blue water. Its coral reef is extended over more than 32km. Most of it is 10 meters deep, thus forming coral “bands”. There are many and well-developed sponges, gorgonians, and corals, but the main attraction is the variety of fish. Just a few sites in the Caribbean can equal to these sea bottoms in this regard.

Divers should visit sites like La Jaula, situated in an extended area between 17m and 30m depth, for opportunities to admire the big black groupers and Nassau groupers, dog snappers, mutton snappers, and schools of gray snappers, schoolmasters and yellowtail snappers, and in some season, big eagle rays.

Our diving center is conveniently located in Melia Cayo Guillermo. One of 7 modern and comfortable hotels in Cayo Guillermo. Currently, there are a few other resorts under construction on the island. A transportation between Cayo Coco Airport and Cayo Guillermo is about 45 minutes.
